All KVC eyeglasses are prepared at our state-of-the-art optical lab. The custom eyeglass designs of our Licensed Opticians determine optimal optical parameters, such as lens curvature, thickness and material.

Lens blanks, which have only a transparent front surface, are then selected. The back surface of the lens blanks are cut by an optical machine called a generator and then polished until they are also transparent.

Lens coatings such as antireflective or scratch-resistent are applied. The lenses are then inspected by a Licensed Optician for accuracy and quality.

An optical machine called an edger cuts the lenses to the patient measurements and frame shape. The lenses are then secured into the frame.

The completed eyeglasses are cleaned, aligned and reinspected by a Licensed Optician, before being shipped to the appropriate KVC location.
